Great Nepal! Beautiful Nepal! Nepal is a small country which lies between India and China. It is about 500 miles long and 100 miles wide. The total population of Nepal is about 20 million. About 40% of the total land lies in the Himalayan region. Nepal has three geograhical regions, i.e. Himalayan, Hill and Terai. The Capital of Nepal is Kathmandu, which lies in the Hill region. Nepal is situated in the lap of the Himalayas and most of the higher himalayas are covered with the snow. Mt. Everest which is the highest peak in the world also lie in the Himalayan region. There is no human settlement in higher himalayas but people live in the lower himalayas which is thinly populated. The national flower of Nepal is Rhododendron(Laliguras). The national bird is Lophophorus (Danphe) and the national animal of Nepal is Cow. Nepal is naturally rich country. Green forests, tranquil-lakes, snow capped mountains, etc are the resources. Nepal is the 2nd richest country in the world in water resources. Most of the rivers are originated from the himalayas. There are many rivers like Gandaki, Koshi and Karnali. Nepal is also popular all over the world for its natural beauty. Forests are the main natural rsources of Nepal. Many kinds of forests can be found because the attitudinal variation. We often say. "Green forest is the wealth of Nepal". We cn find many wild animals and medicinal herbs which is used for natural treatments. The wild animals like Buck-deer, One-horned Rhino, etc are also found in the forests of Nepal. We have different seasons in a year. There are mailny 4 seasons. They are Summer - May to August, Autumn - September to October, Winter - November to February and Spring - March to April. Spring is also known as the King of the seasons. In this season we can see all the forests green and the weather is also cool. The life in Nepal is more exciting exciting because of the different seasons found here. Nepal is also known as the land of the temples. There are many temples and stupas situated in different parts of the country. Nepalese celebrate many festivals according to their rituals. The main 2 festivals of Nepal is Dashain which is celebrated for 10 days and Tihar (the light of festival) which is celebrated for 5 days. The other festival, are Buddha Jayanti, Lhosar, etc. The main food of Nepal is Rice(Bhat), Pulses(Dal), Curry, Pickles, Meat, etc. There are many cultural and natural sites like Bhaktapur Durbar, Patan Durbar, Royal Chitwan National Park, Swayambhu, Pashupati, Lumbini etc. As a conclusion, we can say that Nepal is a great country having 3 geographical regions consisting of Himalayan, Hill and Terai. Also Nepal is a beautiful country having many mountains, high peaks covered with snow, tranquil lakes, forests having natural beautywhich identifies Nepal as a popular country all over the world. Nepalese also celebates many festivals and is known as the land of temples. Lastly, Nepal is very inteesting and enjoyable to travel because of its pleasant different seasons.
