Great Nepal! Beautiful Nepal! Introduction Among different countries in the world, Nepal is one of the small and independent country. Nepal is a landlocked and a beautiful country. It is situated between China and India. It is 147,181 sq.km in area. The population of Nepal is about 20 million. The Himalayas has formed the northern boundary of Nepal. Himalayas separate Nepal from China.Eight of ten highest mountains of the world are located in nepal. The highest mountain of the world, Mount Everest is also in Nepal. The national flower of Nepal is "Laliguras" and national bird is "Danphe". The national animal of Nepal is cow. Nepal is divided into the himalayan, hilly and plain region according to the landforms. There are mainly four seasons in nepal. They are:- summer, autumn, winter and spring. Summer and winter lasts for four months. Autumn and spring lasts for two months. Summer is from May to August. Autumn is from begining of september till october. Winter is from November to February. And spring is from March to April. Though Nepal is small in area, it is very rich in culture, tradition and festivals. It is the only Hindu country among the members of United Nations Organization. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. It is also known as city of temples. There are many ancient temples in Nepal. Tourists from different parts of the world come to visit Nepal to see the valuable temples and cultural resources of Nepal. There are mainly pagoda shaped temples in Nepal. All these temples represent the ancient civilization of our country. Various religions such as `Shaivism`,`Buddhism`,`Vaishnavism` e.t.c. have been co-existing here for centuries. In Nepal there are enough handicrafts, metal crafts, idols, sclupture, architecture etc. All these things express our tradition and culture. There are many beautiful items made of metals, made up of stones by carving, carved windows etc. There are many snow capped mountains and green forests in Nepal. There are many rivers and lakes. The main rivers of Nepal are Karnali, koshi and Gandaki. They all originated from the Himalayas by melting the snow. So, nepal is also known as second richest country in water resource in the world. Many festivals are celebrated in Nepal. `Dashain`and `Tihar` are the main festivals of Nepal. Dashain is celebrated for ten days. Tihar is celebrated for 5 days. The main food of Nepal is rice, pulses and curry. There are some cultural and narural sites listed as World heritage sites in the world. They are:-Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath, Lumbini(birth place of Lord Buddha),Durbar Squares and Royal Chitwan National Park. Nepal is also famous for one horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengol Tiger and Buck deer Tourists from different parts of the world come to see all these things. So, being rich in culture, festivals, wild animals, Nepal is so great and very beautiful.
